What’s this? Icelandic artist Svala is back with a new single – her first new release in a little while. She returns with ‘Bones’.
What’s it like? An uplifting pop tune with a vigorous electro production and a chorus that’s so instantly catchy, it borders coming across as being stemmed from ancient Nordic folk. Svala is of course well placed to convincingly pull off both icy Nordic electronica and the folklore of its roots, and ‘Bones’ serves as one of the more brightly hued pieces of pop she’s brought to us in recent years.
Written by? Svala herself, along with Andrea Ingvarsdóttir and Halldór Ágúst Björnsson.
More from Svala? Last autumn she released ‘Birtunnar Brú‘ – a more muted affair, but no less of a stunner.
You can find ‘Bones’ on our Best New Pop playlist.
