This year’s Finnish Eurovision representative Softengine released a follow-up single to their Eurovision song ‘Something Better’ back in June. ‘Yellow House’.
It’s a similar story to what we got from them in May at Eurovision. Similar in sound and also similar in quality. It’s an uplifting stadium rock anthem that’s been infused with synths and given a kick up the arse where the tempo is concerned.
The best bit is that intro that you hear first of all – which is then repeated as a post-chorus throughout the song. You can’t beat a bit of enforced familiarity. Although that grungey (!) middle eight is pretty ace too. As is the chorus – but that took a couple of listens for us.
