New Swedish electro duo on the block, Rainmode, have this week put out a new single. It’s ‘The Foghorn’, and it’s their second after last year’s debut ‘Buckle Up’.
Don’t be put off by the fact that it’s called ‘The Foghorn’. It sounds nothing like a foghorn. It is in fact a chugging, up-tempo electronic number with a high pitched sing-a-long chorus. They say it’s about “solitude, longing and desperation”. And so that makes it one of those great moments in pop where a melody with a case of the happys meets a lyric with a dose of the sads. It’s pretty epic all in all, with a beautiful extended instrumental outro. It plays out like an empty dance floor at the end of the night.
Rainmode is made up of singer/songwriter Henrik Skanfors, and producer Martin Alexandersson. More singles are on their way (YAY!), leading up to the debut album released this spring (YAY!).
‘The Foghorn’ is out now, and has been released outside of Sweden too (YAY!).
