As we mentioned last week, Ola has a new single out in Finland – to promote the opening of a new musical over there called ‘Play Me’. The song is also called ‘Play Me’ and now that we’ve heard it, we are glad to report that it’s effing brilliant. Admittedly, we were totally underwhelmed at first, but then the chorus kicked in! It’s one of those anthemic choruses that makes you forget about the rest of the song and any other song you’ve ever heard and just captures you until it’s finished. We’re not going to try, but we’re pretty sure we could listen to the chorus on a loop for hours. We’ve listened it to the full track a few times now and it’s remarkable that we spend all of the verse and the bridge just willing the chorus to start!
Aside from this uber-chorus, the rest of the song sounds like a cross between a Flo-Rida track slowed down and a 5ive track. We know that sounds odd, but it really does. Have a listen below; you’ll see what we mean. We also loved the moment he starts singing too. You get a real sense of ‘Ola’s back!’, even though his last single was only a few months back.
