Numera!: ‘Naken’

Swedish pop/dance/genre-unidentifiable duo Numera! are back with a brand new single that’s getting people excited. And not just for the title either. Their new one ‘Naken’ (‘Naked’) charted at number 13 in Sweden’s Digilistan yesterday.

It follows on from their debut single that we fell head over heels with around the same time last year – ‘Varför Gör Du Det Med Honom’. What an absolutely mental and amazing song that was.

New single ‘Naken’ calms things down ever so slightly, although that’s not saying much when you consider what came before. It’s still an up-tempo dance track with a killer chorus, but it’s not as BOOM IN YOUR FACE as their debut. This one’s even quite dreamy actually. And that killer chorus comes courtesy of a whistle riff which is as catchy as a whistle riff is supposed to be. Very.

We love these chaps (slightly glossing over the fact that their second single wasn’t quite to our tastes as much as these two have been), and the fact that they’ve been working with another Scandipop duo that we adore – Smith & Thell – means that their impending debut album and or EP should be well worth looking out for. They seem to ‘get’ pop music. That’s two hits from them now that have got the WOW factor about them. Fairly progressive in sound, while never losing sight of the basics of knocking out a good tune.
