Over the weekend, the video arrived for this really quite brill electropop song from Sweden.
It’s ‘Roll With It’ – the debut single from Johan Krafman’s new project Midnight Boy. A celebration, interpolation, and obliteration of 80s pop music.
The video starts off with a concerned girlfriend ending an answer phone message with “oh and this whole 80s thing….it’s gone too far“. Cut to Johan bopping around his room in budget retro vision, while belting out the timewarp of a tune that is ‘Roll With It’. Brilliant! And equally brilliant is the chorus that this song delivers. It’s one of those “whoop – where did that come from?!” moments.
The single is out now digitally, worldwide.
