Martin Rolinski releases his debut EP next week. That’s been a long time coming, hasn’t it?! Well it’s finally here. And it’s called ‘Golden Rays’. A three track EP, all of them brand new songs.
Throughout the week we’ll be previewing each of the EP’s songs. Starting with this one – ‘Killer Queen’.
It’s an epic electroballad with enough camp drama to live up to a title like that. The middle eight really goes in for the kill, and the final chorus booms out like a cinematic funeral march, followed by a ghostly extended outro. It’s a stunner. Sonically it’s not like anything he’s released before, but it does still contain the audio theatrics that have somewhat become Martin Rolinski’s trademark, whether consciously or not.
