Some may remember Kat from her days in amazing Danish girlband Sukkerchok (two albums of pure pop bliss – she’s earned her (rainbow coloured) pop stripes). And others may remember her from her debut solo single ‘Uforbederlig‘ back in June. But you should all unite, sit up, and take notice now – because she’s just come out with a really very good pop tune. AND it’s a free download, so the effort to enjoy it is minimal.
It’s a pretty basic track, truth be told. One which starts off ‘nice enough’ before it gives way to an old fashioned pop chorus. It doesn’t try to reinvent the wheels of pop music, and nor does it really attempt to compete with anything else that’s coming out in 2013 and sounding like 2013. It just wants to deliver a catchy, saccharine drenched chorus. And it succeeds at that with flying colours. This is basically the Kat Stephie we knew from Sukkerchok – plus it could easily be one of their own songs. And in the modern day era of a certain kind of Danish pop music, there are few greater compliments.
