The Junior Eurovision Song Contest isn’t something that we follow. Christ no. But we obvs always make a point of listening to the Scandi entries. The few Scandi countries that are still left competing in it anyway. And this year it appears that Sweden has turned in a blinder for the whole thing. Surprise surprise.
It’s ‘Du är Inte Ensam’, performed by 14 year old Julia Kedhammar. And it’s a bit of a banger actually. Melody wise it’s typical Eurovision and Melodifestivalen fare. Production-wise however, it’s like Swedish House Mafia for kids! Fifteen years after A*Teens, and thus one year before Julia was even born, she’s serving up SHM*Teens all on her own. Obviously it’s been dipped in sugar and is now dripping in saccharine innocence, but it’s still palatable. It’s total cheese – that’s yet to be matured and is mass produced. IT’S CHEESESTRINGS!!!
Julia wrote the song herself, along with – of course – Thomas G:son. Amazing man.
Apols, we can’t haven’t actually got a clue when this Junior Eurovision thing is actually happening, or even where it’s taking place this year. But we do know that this song is good. And that you might well like it;
