Jill Johnson has got herself a new album out this Winter. A duets album, no less. Featuring some old and some new duets with other famous singing folk. And one of the brand new tracks is a duet with everyone’s favourite Half Greek/Half Swede songstress, Helena Paparizou. It’s called ‘Enough’, and it’s a belter of a ballad.
A belter of a ballad in that it’s an old fashioned, rip roaring, hugely melodic love-fest. Swoonsome and tunesome. And it’s got a rollicking great key change shoehorned into it. Basically, it’s a big diva ballad. And these two rise to the task splendidly. It’s got elements of schlager ballad in there, and the slightest tinge of Jill’s usual country music fare. No OPA influences from our Helena though, which would have made for an eclectic number.
Contrary to what some believe, they clearly DO make love songs like this any more.
The album ‘Duetter’ is out now in Sweden, and if you live outside of Sweden then you can get it on CD from our store.
