Last night saw the opening of the HOOOOOOJ new Friends Arena in Solna, Stockholm, Sweden, Scandinavia. A 65,000 capacity venue commands a proper arrival to a city, and the Friends Arena got one, in the form of a massive concert that was broadcast live on SVT yesterday evening. It was a bit like the recent Olympic opening and closing ceremonies. Actually, it was a lot like them. Dancers, cars, music royalty, actual royalty, the lot.
The loose theme for the night was a celebration of Swedish music. So naturally a few Scandipop faves made an appearance , dotted in here and there.
