The almighty E-Type is back to his music making ways. And thankfully, despite an awfully long absence (3 years), he’s still very much ‘got it’!
New single ‘Back 2 Life’ was released in Sweden today and is a no-holds-barred club anthem. E-Type has always been a dab hand at producing anthems of the club variety, but this one has brought his sound right up to date. That’s largely thanks to the production from Max Martin and Shellback, who have together most recently produced Robyn’s ‘Time Machine’, Britney Spears’ ‘Hold It Against Me’, and P!nk’s ‘Raise Your Glass’. E-Type himself wrote the track with Savan Kotecha.
We’re liking this an awful lot. It’s just such a huge party track, irresistibly enjoyable, and it’s virtually impossible to listen to it without some AT LEAST a gentle nodding of the head. It’s also got this great chorus, similar to Rihanna’s ‘Only Girl (In The World)’ in that the first part of each chorus is all synth euphoric, and then the beats are brought in ten-fold for the second part of it. There’s also a fab-tastic remix of it too, by Ali Payami. And we’re loving that almost equally as much. It stays very true to the original track, but makes it a bit more dance orientated, perhaps to the cater to the tastes of his older fans. Again, Rihanna comparisons are evident here, as it sounds quite similar to her collaboration with David Guetta, ‘Who’s That Chick’.
Both tracks are all very WOW! And you can listen to them below;
